A recently launched cybersecurity startup, backed by significant funding, is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join a small and highly experienced team building production-grade AI systems from the ground up.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an engineer who can own complex AI capabilities end to end, from architecture and development to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. The team is small, fast-moving, and highly collaborative, with broad ownership across the product.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and build production-ready AI agents and LLM-powered systems
• Own projects end to end, from technical architecture through deployment
• Develop scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI
• Build and improve RAG pipelines, orchestration logic, and agent workflows
• Work with PostgreSQL, modern ORMs, and production data systems
• Lead technical decisions and help shape engineering standards
• Collaborate closely with Product, Security, and Engineering teams
• Support and guide other engineers while remaining deeply hands-on
Required Experience
• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong expertise in modern, asynchronous Python and FastAPI
• Proven experience building LLM, RAG, or agent-based systems in production
• Strong understanding of AI system architecture beyond prompt engineering
• Experience with PostgreSQL and modern data-access frameworks
• Ability to lead complex technical initiatives in a fast-moving environment
• Strong ownership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
• Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration platforms – strong advantage
• Background in cybersecurity or Application Security – strong advantage
• Experience in early-stage startups or greenfield product environments – strong advantage
