About The Position: We have reached an exciting stage where we are looking for our first VP of R&D to lead our growing R&D department and join our leadership team. As a VP of R&D, you will play a critical role in driving our technological vision and strategy. Your key responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Shaping and Executing R&D Strategy: Develop and implement an R&D strategy that supports the company’s vision and spearheads our product development. Set long-term goals, define research and development priorities, and align them with business objectives.
- Leadership and Team Development: Lead a multidisciplinary department, foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, and mentor the team to tackle daily tech challenges. Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of top talent within the R&D department.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Serve as a vital bridge between the R&D department, executive leadership, and other departments. Work closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to integrate R&D efforts with company-wide initiatives.
- Driving Innovation: Manage the innovation pipeline and ensure the development of cutting-edge technologies. Identify emerging trends and opportunities, conduct feasibility studies, and ensure the successful implementation of innovative solutions.
- Building and Expanding the Department: Collaborate with the CTO to build and expand the R&D department. Define roles, establish processes, and set up the necessary infrastructure to support a high-performing R&D team.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in VP of R&D positions or equivalent, preferably in startups that scaled to large companies. Proven track record of leading R&D initiatives, developing strategies, and executing projects from concept to completion.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in at least one of the following areas: Fullstack development, Data Engineering, or Deep Learning.
- SaaS and Martech Experience: Previous experience in developing SaaS applications and experience in the Martech field are a plus.
- Leadership Skills: Entrepreneurial leader with excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams, and a natural ability to inspire, drive, and motivate different teams towards common goals.
- Strategic and Analytical Thinking: A strategic thinker with a data-oriented approach, strong problem-solving mindset, and resilience while facing challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
